The 2003 Shiraz Reserve appears to be a noteworthy competitor to the brilliant 2002. Aged in equal parts new and old American wood for 16 months, it boasts a big, spicy bouquet of smoke, vanilla, coconut, blackberries, and currants. Sumptuously-textured, full-bodied, and juicy, with plenty of power, it should drink well for 7-8 years. Importer: Ken Onish & John Gorman, Southern Starz, Huntington Beach, CA; tel. (714) 892-3030
