The 2007 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane Vizzarro opens to dark fruit aromas, espresso, cured meat, prune and black currant. The wine is both pungent and sour in the mouth but its rich texture and thick consistency seem to smooth over these issues. Vizzarro is aged in American oak for 24 months.
