The 2001 Rosso di Montalcino is dark with a nose which reveals the classic wild cherry/red currant and tobacco notes of Sangiovese; the palate is of good size and structure, the length is assisted by an appreciable density and continuity. Fresher than in the past – Talenti’s wines were more mature on release – it should give pleasurable drinking until 2006-2007.
