The 2017 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru La Cardeuse is superb, soaring from the glass with aromas of rose petal, orange rind, grilled game, sweet wild berries and rich soil. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and succulent, with sappy acids and a long finish. While I'm generally loath to make comparisons of this kind, I don't think I imagined a stylistic nod to the wines of Domaine Dujac.
