The 2015 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru la Cardeuse (Rouge), a monopole of the domaine within Morgeot that is aged in 25% new oak, has delightful red cherry, blueberry and iodine scents on the nose that are pure and well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, quite powerful and almost burly, though I find more composure and finesse here compared to the Vieilles Vignes. This comes recommended.
