Girardin's Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot Vieilles Vignes is consistently one of his finest wines. The 1996 reveals an austere, stone and flint-infused nose as well as a broad-shouldered, massively ripe, mouth-coating, oily-textured, chewy, full-bodied and masculine personality filled with minerals and rock dust. It should be at its best between 2001-2007.
