From a parcel just below the house of Paul Pillot, the 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos St Jean 1er Cru has an upfront bouquet with scents of wilted white petals and lime flower, apple blossom soon after. The palate is crisp and vibrant on the entry with grapefruit and lime notes, but it just drifts a little toward the finish and consequently, compared to its “siblings,” it just feels a touch anonymous.
