The 2006 Carramimbre Reserva comes from 40-year-old vines in Penefiel that are aged for 24 months in new French and American oak (80% and 20% respectively). The nose has touches of espresso infusing the black fruit, and that really comes through on the palate, which again is dominated by oak, with a rather ersatz-mocha finish. Drink now.
