The 2007 Morellino di Scansano Suberli is a warm, generous wine bursting with ripe red fruit and sweet spices. Notes of tobacco, red cherries and earthiness emerge with time in the glass, adding richness and complexity. The oak treatment seems a bit excessive for this soft wine and detracts slightly from the overall balance. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012.
