The 2016 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Poisots was touched by the frost, so there only one and a half barrels instead of the usual six (the vines are in their third year of conversion to biodynamics). It has a tightly wound, earthy, rather introspective bouquet with touches of truffle and woodland scents emanating partly from the 25% whole bunch fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, brimming over with vibrant red berry fruit laced with blood orange and a cohesive vibrant finish. This is a deeply impressive follow-up to the impressive 2015.
