Laurent Lignier’s fourth vintage from vines planted just after World War II that were millerandé in this year, the 2013 Nuits St Georges les Poisets has a playful, well-defined bouquet with red cherries, mint and wild heather scents. The palate is nicely balanced, a little more high-toned in style compared to Laurent’s other crus, but with a succulent salted-licorice-tinged finish that lingers nicely in the mouth. Very fine.
