A blend of Sangiovese (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Merlot (20%), the 2016 Ripa delle More is a dark, enriched and hearty red wine to pair with roasted or grilled meats. The wine offers extra layers of richness and succulence with dark cherry, blackberry and more dark plummy fruit. The bouquet is also characterized by spice, tobacco, road tar and cured leather. There is subtle sweetness on the close that contributes to the succulence and softness of the wine. Some 30,000 bottles were made.
