The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Barberini is a step behind the La Reserve Secrete and maybe even the regular bottling. It's also divided equally between Grenache and Syrah, but this cuvée incorporates 10% Mourvèdre. Aging is in a mix of steel and barrique, with about 20% new oak. Lifted raspberry aromas lead things off, followed by ample weight and richness, a creamy texture and a long finish that features building spice and warmth. Drink it over the next 10 years.
