Produced from extremely old Grenache vines, the top cuvee is the Mas de la Barben Calice. The 2004 Calice’s inky/ruby/purple color is followed by an extraordinary perfume of kirsch liqueur, raspberries, flowers, smoke, and licorice. With stunning intensity, full-bodied opulence, and a long, lush, heady finish, it should drink well for 10-12 years.
