The Damilano family crafts a solid Barbera from the Asti region of Piedmont. Their 2019 Barbera d'Asti is dark and plummy, with an upfront and nicely intense quality of fruit showing ripe blackberry in pole position. The wine spreads over the palate with dark richness and imparts extra-tart acidity and freshness to keep things tonic and bright, especially in the company of a heaping plate of agnolotti al plin. An ample 70,000 bottles were made.
