The 2012 Pinot Noir Estate is a blend of different vineyard sites from Dick and Betty O'Brien, Bill Fuller and Jim Bernau. Picked October 3-24, and including 15% whole-cluster fruit, it sees 20% new French oak over eight months barrel maturation. It has an attractive bouquet: brambly red berry fruit, touches of tobacco and mint that is nicely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, nicely judged acidity and an appealing, slightly savory finish.
