The 2016 Pommard Village, which comes from vines on the upper reaches of the slope, was completely destemmed, although there is a touch of woodland, something leafy that infused the black fruit here. It feels quite austere at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with firm and slightly gritty tannin, simple and foursquare toward the finish that will hopefully gain a little flesh by the time of bottling.
