The 2013 Pernand-Vergelesses Clos de la Croix de Pierre, which comes from a vineyard with shallow soil and was replanted about ten years ago, has a more introspective nose compared to the Combottes '13, with scents of cooking apple, fresh pear and lime flower. The palate is well balanced with a rounded, slightly viscous texture, nicely focused, though without the tension and minerality of the Combottes at this stage.
