The bouquet reveals cooked fruit and baked plum and there is a big component of earthy spice, tar, smoke and leather at the back. Thankfully, the wine maintains a fresh, mid-weight texture with silky tannins. This is a 22,000-bottle release.

This red falls squarely into the savory camp, with wild herb, Mediterranean scrub and earth aromas and flavors taking precedence over the cherry and red berry fruit. Gruff finish.
