I loved the 2014 St Péray le Mialan, and the team at Ferraton (and Chapoutier) continue to push the quality in this appellation. Made from 100% Marsanne and aged nine months in 80% stainless steel and 20% in demi-muids, it offers pretty, classic Marsanne notes of apple skin, white peach and honeysuckle. Medium-bodied, fresh, layered and with plenty of texture, it’s borderline outstanding and will evolve gracefully for 3-4 years.
