The estate’s 2003 Buriano is Cabernet Sauvignon aged in French oak barrels. It is an outstanding effort, with notable density and weight in its black cherries, plums, herbs, new leather and toasted oak. The super-ripe dark fruit is held in check by a vein of Tuscan acidity, which gives the wine a surprising element of freshness in this vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2017.
