The 2012 Inspiracion Valdemar Tempranillo Blanco is one of the few varietal wines made with this mutation of Tempranillo, as it’s not a white wine made with red grapes, but a new white version of the Tempranillo grape. This has a waxy nose, with ripe notes of peaches and some tropical hints. The texture in palate is akin to a red wine, powerful, full of flavors, intense and long, with a mineral, salty finish. Tempranillo Blanco is something to follow up. Drink 2014-2017. Bodegas Valdemar, which seemed very modern when created in 1985, has a wide portfolio of well-crafted, clean wines showing good typicity and balance as well as an interesting collection of varietals.
