The 1995 Zinfandel Cooke Vineyard from Sonoma Valley is made in limited quantities (435 cases). It offers an explosive nose of licorice, pepper, allspice, black plum and cherry fruit. A great Zinfandel with fabulous concentration, the wine's wealth of fruit and glycerin conceal the lofty alcohol level of 15.2%. Totally dry, this super-concentrated wine reveals none of the late harvest characteristics suggested by its high alcohol and huge size. This is a tour de force in Zinfandel winemaking! Drink it over the next 10-12 years.
