The 2013 Late Bottled Vintage Port is a blend from old vines that comes in with 98 grams per liter of residual sugar. It is unfiltered, but that bar-top cork and the 500ml size (from which this was tasted) sometimes give the wrong impression on its vinification methods. (It also comes in a 750ml size with a long cork, more suitable for aging.) This is not the biggest or most powerful LBV, but it has enough substance and some power. Its fruit is simply delicious, making it easy to love. This is a nice performance, suave and harmonious, while still a little exuberant in flavor. There isn't a lot of concentration, but it should age reasonably well if you have a bottle with a long cork. However, it certainly does not need to be cellared. The price applies to the 500ml bottle.
