2018 was basically a perfect vintage in Margaret River, and the wines as a whole show intense ripeness and density of fruit, with balanced acids and alcohols. It was a freak year. So, in the 2018 Chardonnay, we see a wine that is voluminous and expansive (courtesy of the vintage), yet for all of the generosity, it is framed within a tight, phenolic structure. This makes for exciting drinking now but potentially even better drinking in a couple of years' time. Flavorful. Open weave.
