Oliver Conti’s red wines begin with the bargain-priced 2007 Turo Negre. A blend of Merlot, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc aged in seasoned barrique for 12 months, it displays a bouquet of herbs, spices, earth notes, and black fruits. Dry, savory, and well-proportioned on the palate, this lengthy effort over-delivers in a big way. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.
