The opaque purple-colored 2010 Cote Rotie Rose Pourpre reveals floral, bacon fat and dark raspberry-like characteristics, terrific structure and enough fruit intensity and extract to match the wine’s tannin level. This ripe, heady, long, rich, multidimensional, promising Cote Rotie should hit its prime in 2-3 years, and drink well for 10-15.
Two cuvees of St.-Joseph are produced, including Les Pierres (which comes from stony soils) and the Clos de Cuminaille (which is a true “Clos”).
