The 2015 Rasteau La Bastide is a sturdy, full-bodied blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvèdre. Briary blackberry notes mark the nose and palate and while the tannins are ripe, imparting a velvety texture on the palate, they're also substantial. Give this wine a year or two to mellow before enjoying its fine, licorice-tinged finish over the next several years.
