The 2003 Crianza, produced from 100% Tempranillo and aged 14 months in American oak, is dark ruby-colored with aromas and flavors of spice box, earth, cherry and black currants. Fine aromas that announce balance and completeness draw you in, and right away you will like the cherry, red currant and cassis flavors. But as that fruit sits and the acidity builds, the wine goes racy initially and then almost haywire. By the end it almost falls off toward sour.
