The 2000 Riesling Gaisberg, produced from 6 year old vines (this was their second harvest), offers a nose composed of exotic fruits, spices, and sweet herbal teas. It is a fruit forward, expressive wine with a juicy medium-bodied and chewy-textured character. This is a superb Riesling to try for those consumers who have grown tired of Chardonnay yet wish to have a thick, opulent wine. Pears and spices can be discerned throughout its soft personality and appealing finish. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
