The 1996 Chateauneuf du Pape Mourre des Perdrix displays a distinctive earthy, strawberry/black raspberry and cherry, fruit-driven aromatic profile. In the mouth, it seems more closed than the bouquet suggests. The wine is medium-bodied and slightly angular, with good structure, depth, and ripeness. It will benefit from 12-18 months of cellaring it should age for 7-8 years.
