The 2001 Zinfandel Dina’s Vineyard emerges from a dry-farmed, head-pruned 95-year old vineyard. There are 325 cases of this offering, which tips the scales at a lofty 15.9% alcohol. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a big, sweet nose of blackberries, boysenberries, and chocolatey black cherries. Medium to full-bodied and rich, with more minerality and structure than the Russian River cuvee, it is a less opulent, but beautifully made, full-throttle effort to enjoy over the next few years.
