The 2010 Tornamira is 50% Syrah with equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (aged 14 months in oak). The wine is executed flawlessly, and although it shows the plump ripeness that is characteristics of Sicily, this blend is also fine-tuned and focused with plenty of inner harmony. The wine opens to dark, brooding concentration followed by sweet tones of baking spice, black fruit and cherry. It follows through to the palate with enormous smoothness and richness. Tornamira takes a Sicilian twist on three international grapes that have adapted well to the warm climate surroundings. You can drink it now, or wait a few more years. Drink 2014-2020.
