The 2010 Beaune Greves is impeccable from start to finish. It possesses the aromatics of the Pertuisots married to the darker expression of fruit found in the Bressandes. Polished, refined tannins frame the finish in a striking wine that captures all of the best qualities of the domaine. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2022.
Domaine des Croix is just around the corner from Camille Giroud, where winemaker David Croix is also in charge. The Domaine des Croix wines are typically made in a forward, fruit-driven style. Although the wines can age, my preference is to drink them on the young side. In 2010, yields came in around 20-25 hectoliters, very low by any measure. I tasted most of the 2010s from barrel, except as noted.
