The 2014 Barolo Preda is heavy on the oak spice and toast. More than the other single-vineyard Barolos from the 2014 vintage, this one shows more wood, or perhaps it has a lighter quality of fruit that in turn makes that wood appear more obvious. Ripe cherry and jammy blackberry add softness and richness to the wine's texture and mouthfeel. I suggest a ten-year drinking window at most. Only 3,500 bottles were made.

Sweet plum, licorice, leather and menthol aromas and flavors highlight this firm, dry red. The balance leans toward the tannins, but overall this isn't astringent and persists on the finish.
