The 2014 Revelation Red, a blend of 53% Syrah and 47% Grenache, reveals a lavish nose of red and black berry fruit, spice and creamy new oak. On the palate, the wine is layered, full-bodied and texturally seamless—until the finish, when oak tannins clamp down on the teeth and gums, depressing my score for what is nevertheless one of the more serious of these 2014s from Epiphany.
