The 2013 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands is borderline outstanding, revealing lots of fruit and texture to go with classy notes of black cherries, raspberries, spice and underbrush. It shows a touch of creamy oak with time in the glass, has beautiful purity and is a rock solid, well-made Pinot Noir to drink over the coming 3-5 years. Note, this is sourced largely from Doctor’s Vineyard, but also incorporates grapes from Dos Rubios, Fogstone and Guidotti vineyards.
