Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Bouilland. The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières has a bright nose of yellow plum, grapefruit and granitic scents, nicely focused and precise. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, fine definition, a touch of almond in the background with hints of toffee. Perhaps the oak comes through strongly but it still has something to offer. Give this another 12-18 months in bottle. Tasted May 2016.
