The estate’s 2011 Barbera d’Alba is another juicy, forward wine bursting with expressive, juicy fruit. Red raspberries and sweet spices are some of the notes that wrap around the vinous, inviting finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2014.
Enrico Scavino’s entry-level wines are very good, but not great. Scavino has chosen to make the wines at the lower end of his range in a much simpler style than his top wines, which sets him apart from most of his colleagues at the upper echelon of Barolo producers, many of whom make more important entry-level wines.
