The 2001 Pinot Noir Estate (all from the vineyard’s hillsides and hilltops) boasts a saturated dark ruby color as well as a big, sweet, earthy nose filled with black cherries, strawberry jam, and flower aromas. Ripe and medium to full-bodied, with hints of plums as well as figs in the flavors, this long, elegant, attractive, pure, firm 2001 will benefit from an additional 12-18 months of cellaring. It should keep for a decade. Most of these Pinot Noirs carry a lofty 14.5% alcohol. Tel. (707) 823-2378; Fax (707) 823-0918
