Aged mainly in old, large format French oak, 10% new, Spring Seed’s 2009 Scarlet Runner Shiraz has a deep garnet purple color and intense blackberry and black cherry aromas with some mint, spice box and a little dark chocolate. Rich and full bodied with medium to high acidity as well as a medium level of fine tannins, it gives a pleasant suggestion of vanilla and spice in the long finish.
