The 2011 Bin 51 Eden Valley Riesling is a little closed, revealing subtle hints of wet pebbles, grapefruit peel and white blossom plus a touch of green apple peel. Very crisp, dry and light-bodied, there’s a wonderful freshness to the palate and it finishes long and lemony. It is approachable now, but should drink best from 2013 to 2017+. The first vintage of the good value Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet was 1976. Back then it was labeled as “Claret” in reference to the style rather than the grapes.
