The 2009 Gewurztraminer Lunare is magnificent. There is so much intensity in the aromas and flavors, yet the wine remains weightless. Crushed rocks, salt, peaches, mango, tropical fruit and dried flowers are layered into the sublime finish. This is another fabulous showing from Terlano. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. These new releases from Cantina di Terlano are impressive. As much as I admire the top wines, I simply adore the entry-level bottlings for their unbeatable combination of quality, value and regional/varietal typicity.
