A blend of 76% Zinfandel, 12% Syrah, and 12% Petite Sirah, the 2006 Zappa reveals plenty of toasty oak, a slight hint of volatile acidity (which is an attractive rather than flawed component), and supple, medium to full-bodied, fleshy flavors. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
This is a beautiful portfolio of wines from Robert Biale Vineyards. The Stagecoach Vineyard is a large parcel nearly 500 acres on the hillsides above Oakville.
