Even denser, with terrific minerality, the appropriately named 2009 Crozes-Hermitage Roche-Pierre tastes like a liqueur of rocks intermixed with black currant and black cherry fruit. Full-bodied, dense, moderately tannic, structured and backward, this 2009 needs several years of cellaring, and should drink well for 10-15 years.
One of the northern Rhone’s most consistent estates, Domaine Belle has long been represented in the United States by importer Robert Kacher.
