The easiest drinking Zinfandel, at least one meant for immediate consumption (although one could argue that all Zinfandels should be consumed in the near-term) is the 2006 Juvenile. Made from the young-vine cuvees at Turley, the wine is a sensual, up-front, medium-bodied Zinfandel with dark ruby color, plenty of berry fruit, but some underbrush, pepper, and spice. Rustic around the edges, this is lively and zesty, with appealingly briary plum, licorice and spicy underbrush notes. Drink now through 2012. -TF
