The 2013 Angel de Larrainzar is a young blend of 60% Tempranillo, 25% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for a short time in oak. The nose shows a mixture of red and black fruit, spices and licorice, and a medium-bodied palate with very good freshness and fine tannins. Good, but unexciting. Drink now.
Pago de Larrainzar produces modern, well-crafted reds based on international grape varieties that are difficult to pinpoint as Navarra.
