The iconic 2011 Proprietary Red Cinq Cépages is the 27th vintage of this cuvée. A blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec, it is an austere, medium-bodied, good, but not inspiring example of this wine, traditionally the finest red in the Chateau St. Jean portfolio. Of course, it is a 2011 which explains the qualitative level. Drink it over the next 4-6 years.
