The 1993 Eloge is a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the remainder Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The wine leans toward a St.-Emilion in its tobacco leaf, cedary, black cherry, and currant-scented nose. A classy, rich, finesse-styled wine, it would be hard to pick out as a Napa Cabernet. The wine has good grip and delineation, as well as a medium-bodied, excellent finish. There is some hard tannin, but it is less noticeable in the Eloge than in the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Only 250 cases of the 1993 were produced. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2020.Eloge is a luxury-priced proprietary wine that was introduced by Conn Valley in 1993. The goal is to produce about 1,000 cases. No 1994, 1995 or 1996 was produced.Tel. (707) 963-8600; Fax (707) 963-7818
