Fess Parker’s fairly priced Syrahs are all well worth buying. The generic 2005 Syrah Santa Barbara offers delicious blackberry fruit infused with notes of asphalt and road tar. Round, opulent, and velvety textured, it will provide lovely drinking over the next 3-4 years. This reliable winery still boasts Hollywood icon/hotel developer/top vineyard owner Fess Parker running the show. Moreover, he remains, at age 84, a giant of a man.
